Statement on Healthcare Reform Vote

November 8, 2009 by Rick Crawford

“Tonight we saw history made where a liberal congress decided they know how to deal better with healthcare decisions than the American people do.  Marion Berry voted in favor of this legislation and in doing so, completely ignored what his constituents wanted.  Marion Berry proved again how he is nothing more than a Yes vote for Nancy Pelosi and her liberal agenda.”

My wife and I attended the town hall meeting in Jonesboro with Berry, and I thought the crowd clearly expressed their feelings on this bill. Berry did ignore us completely, and I for one, do not like being ignored by someone I helped put into office. My wife and I will do all that is asked of us as volunteers for Rick Crawford’s campaign. We need someone in Washington who will vote what the constituents want, not a “yes” man for any party. We’re with YOU now Rick!

    Rick:

We need badly to get back on track. I pray you will represent the people in your district and not the special interest groups.

once again Marion Berry has chosen to disregard the wish of the people of the 1st District. we need someone with a spine to stand up for Arkansans and not Californians.

Well, what a disappointment was Marion Berry. He bowed to the powers that be and failed to listen to the people of AR. Good Bye Mr. Berry! Hello Rick Crawford.

It is so hard to see what is going on in D.C. I pray you and many other conservatives win in ‘10.

beating Marion Berry will be no easy task, but… there is no doubt that it can be done. it’s gonna take grass roots campaigning. talking points being:
1)lets face it, a large number of the 1st district are democrats and there is a feirce resistance to vote republician. but we have to point out that the democratic party ain’t what it used to be.
2)he’s out of touch with the 1st District, look at his voting record.
3)how can a multi millionare relate to you the working class

neighbors talking to neighbors making these points and more. you’ve got to take one county at a time. some will be easier than others. but its gonna take a grass roots movement.

He has decided to solve the health care issue by destoying the coverage of the 80% that are ok with their insurance in order to cover the 20% with none in his district. He has never answered my mail because I want 1st district answers and not Pelosi/Beltway answers.

Marion Berry needs a pink slip! He has forgotten that he works for us. He is working for the liberal elite who want to remodel who and what America is. Not simply to tell us what to think but show us how to think. Marion Berry needs a pink slip!

I just received a letter back from Berry regarding his vote on health care. The man seems to actually be proud of his vote! How can a man be so out of touch with the people of his district? It is definitely time for a change in the First District of Arkansas!

Please exercise your true conservative values like some of the folks who have endorsed your candidacy. We all understand that there is a special interest group…for any type of cause. Let’s face it, each of us in the 1st district ARE our OWN special interest group!

Practice what you preach, for I and others will CERTAINLY be monitoring the money trail!

    Count on my support!
