State Rep. Davy Carter Endorses Crawford

- Cites Crawford’s Maturity, Experience, and Performance under Pressure -

Momentum for Crawford Builds with just over 5 weeks remaining

First District Congressional candidate, United States Army veteran, and agri-business owner Rick Crawford today announced the endorsement of State Representative Davy Carter of Cabot. Carter is running unopposed for his second term as a State Representative from District 48, which includes Cabot in Lonoke County. On Thursday, Crawford became the first candidate to announce his campaign’s quarterly fundraising total, which came in at about $190,000 bringing his cash on hand total to $200,000. Former Governor Mike Huckabee endorsed Rick and contributed $1,000 in January and another $1,000 at the end of March.

“Rick Crawford understands that Washington cannot continue its reckless pattern of unwise spending,” said Representative Carter. “From Marianna to Cabot, voters in the First District know that our country cannot sustain these record deficits. Rick Crawford is committed to forcing Congress to address this critical issue and that is why he has my full support.”

“I am grateful and honored to receive this endorsement from Representative Carter,” said Crawford. “Like many voters throughout the First District, Davy is frustrated with Congress and the unending expansion of our federal government. This extensive growth in government will eventually consume major portions of our income and leave our children and grandchildren in dire financial shape. Every man, woman, and child today owes $184,000 for his or her share of government’s unfunded promises. As I told Davy, this veteran fully understands that failure is not an option.”

Davy Carter, 35, is a native of Lee County (Marianna) and resident of Cabot, Arkansas. He is an honor graduate of the William Bowen School of Law (UALR) where he was a member of the law review. He holds a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance from Arkansas State University and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at L.S.U. He is a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. He and his wife Cara have three children.

“I am convinced that Rick’s maturity and military background, along with his knowledge and understanding of the importance of agriculture to our great state, make him the ideal person to send to Washington to represent the First Congressional District,” concluded Carter.

This is the fourth endorsement by an elected official in Arkansas for the Crawford for Congress campaign. Previous endorsements include Governor Mike Huckabee, as well as Congressmen Asa Hutchinson and Ed Bethune.

Arkansas Federation of College Republicans Endorses Crawford Campaign

First District Congressional candidate, former United States Army Sergeant, and agri-business owner Rick Crawford today received the formal endorsement of the Arkansas Federation of College Republicans in his campaign to unseat Marion Berry.

“Having grown up in Forrest City and graduated from Wynne High School I know the traditional American values of Northeast Arkansas and I know Rick Crawford exemplifies these qualities,” said Tom Norsworthy, Chairman of the AFCR. “ He understands the challenges that college students and young professionals face in the First Congressional District and will work hard to provide better paying jobs, decrease the tax burden on family farms and businesses, as well as control spending in congress. I am confident that he will represent the First District’s conservative values.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsement from the future leaders of our nation,” said Crawford. “I want to go to Washington and apply traditional American values to the legislative process to ensure that today’s college students will have the same opportunities that I and many others before me have had to start their own business, enjoy lower taxes, and the opportunity of better paying jobs. I am proud to have their support,” said Crawford.
