Crawford for Congress Releases First Web Ad

August 31, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

Jonesboro – Today, the Rick Crawford for Congress released a web-ad entitled “Military” that highlights Crawford’s service to the United States and his appreciation of our constitutional freedoms.

Veterans and military families have become an issue in the campaign after Democrat Chad Causey decided to insult military families for being stationed away from home. National and local veterans groups have rallied behind Crawford and condemned Causey for his disrespect.

Crawford Campaign Manager Jonah Shumate stated, “Rick is incredibly proud of his service to this country and respects those who are serving overseas now immensely. This ad highlights his service and his desire to keep fighting for our families, small businesses and values. His kind of leadership in DC will be a breath of fresh air. It’s imperative that Arkansas next Congressman have the backbone to stand up to Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama. Rick is the only candidate in this race that will do that.”

Crawford’s father was a career Air Force officer and Rick served in the US Army as a bomb disposal officer before attending Arkansas State and building AgWatch into a successful small business serving farmers throughout Arkansas.

National Defense PAC Endorses Crawford

August 24, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

Says Opponent Should Be Soundly Defeated for Disrespectful Assault on Veterans and Military Families

Jonesboro-Today in the wake of the revelation that Chad Causey and his campaign insulted veterans and military families, national defense groups are resoundingly chastising Causey for his show of disrespect to those who serve in the armed forces.  Causey’s insinuation that those in military families are 2nd class citizens is a sad statement from anyone, but especially from a congressional candidate.

-From the National Defense PAC Press Release-

“Rick Crawford grew up in a military family where his father served in the United States Air Force.  During that time, Rick had the opportunity to live all over the United States and overseas.  Rick graduated high school from Alvirne High School in Hudson, New Hampshire.  Due to his father’s service in the Air Force, his opponent is saying that Rick is not fit to serve as a congressman from Arkansas because he did not graduate from high school in Arkansas.  This is the kind of desperate and disrespectful attitude toward military service that Rick’s Arkansas challenger has shrunk to.  This is a slap in the face to any veteran’s son or daughter that was born or educated outside the state where they choose to run for congress in the future.   The fact their parent was a patriotic service member that deployed wherever the country sent them should not be a negative for any congressional candidate.  Rick’s opponent should be soundly defeated for this outrageous and disrespectful assault based on the consequences of military service.”

Desperate Causey Campaign Hit’s Veterans and Military Families

August 24, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

“Causey Needs to Apologize to Veterans and Military Families Everywhere”

Jonesboro –  Washington lackey turned Congressional Candidate Chad Causey’s campaign is spending today trying to run damage control on a series of public polls showing him trailing Army Veteran and Small Businessman Rick Crawford.

Yesterday, in an apparent attempt to show why a 10 year Washington Insider might have a chance against a conservative small businessman in the race for congress Causey’s pollster released a memo in which they revealed that they polled the fact that Crawford spent his youth as a “Air Force Brat” and graduated from high school in New Hampshire.

From the Memo Released by Chad Causey’s Pollster:

Facts about Rick Crawford that do not resonate with Arkansans:

-He graduated high school in New Hampshire.

Crawford Campaign Manager Jonah Shumate commented, “This is truly sad and Chad Causey needs to apologize to veterans and their families everywhere. Rick’s father spent his career protecting this country and now Chad Causey thinks that because his son was part of a military family that should be used as some sort of political attack. That is the kind of cynical and wanton disrespect that only a Washington insider would show to military families. This is a sad development, but at the end of the day the voters of this district will understand the difference between someone who wants to serve their interests and serve this country as opposed to continuing Chad’s record of serving Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama”.

Crawford Continues Lead by Double Digits In Latest Poll

August 24, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

Standing Up to the Obama-Pelosi Liberal Agenda and Opponents Silence on the Issues Continue to Propel Crawford

Jonesboro – Today Talk Business Quarterly and Hendrix University released yet another poll that continues to show small businessman and army veteran Rick Crawford leading his opponent by double digits. This poll shows Crawford gaining 16 points since the last polling in the race was released.

Crawford stated “I am thrilled that my message of standing up to Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and the Washington insiders is gaining more traction every day. This poll is proof that the voters want a leader in Congress who won’t kowtow to the liberals and special interests. While I am excited to continue to lead in the polls I am focused on the only poll that really matters, that’s the one on November 2nd. My campaign will continue to work day and night as we head into the final months of this campaign.”

The poll was conducted Thursday night and sampled 630 likely voters across the First district. It’s margin of error was +/- 3.9%.

Crawford’s Campaign Manager Jonah Shumate added, ‘Rick is the only person in this race that won’t cast his first vote in Congress for Nancy Pelosi and who consistently stands up for the views of the people of the first district. These polls show the people of Arkansas want a leader who isn’t afraid to stand up for our values. Chad Causey is having a lot of trouble being straight with Arkansas voters about where he stands on the issues and that is a clear contrast with Rick’s willingness to take the bull by the horns”.

Causey Needs to be Honest About 9/11 Mosque and Nancy Pelosi

August 20, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

Jonesboro – The Campaign of Congressional Candidate Rick Crawford has again asked Democrat Chad Causey to tell us whether or not he stands with his liberal leaders Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama on building a Mosque just blocks from the site of the 9/11 attacks. This repeated call for honesty from Causey comes the day after Nancy Pelosi called for an investigation into those who are standing against building the proposed Mosque at ground zero.

“Chad Causey has worked in Washington hand-in-hand with Nancy Pelosi and her liberal leadership for more than 10 years. Now that he’s running for Congress he needs to let the people of Arkansas’ First district know where he stands. It’s inexcusable that he hasn’t stood up against those that would seek to build a Mosque where thousands of Americans were murdered. We are taking this opportunity to ask him again to be straight with those he seeks to represent. If he can’t do it on a clear issue like this, how can we expect him to be a leader in Congress?” asked Crawford Campaign Manager Jonah Shumate.
The proposed Mosque has been a hotly-debated issue nationwide with leaders from both parties condemning the project due to its complete insensitivity to those who lost their loved ones at the hands of Islamic extremists.

Shumate continued “Chad Causey’s first vote in Congress would be for Nancy Pelosi. It’s sad that he hasn’t been elected yet and he is already kowtowing to their liberal leadership. Arkansas deserves better!  That’s why Rick Crawford is the clear choice for those who want a congressman who will stand up to the Obama-Pelosi agenda.”

Crawford Comes Out Swinging Against 9/11 Mosque

August 19, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

Campaign Calls on Causey to finally stand up to Obama and join Crawford’s opposition

Jonesboro- Congressional candidate and decorated army veteran Rick Crawford today chastised the Obama administration for failing to focus on creating jobs and stabilizing the failing economy, but having the time to weigh in on the wrong side of the proposed mosque at ground zero.

“It’s sad that the president isn’t working to create jobs and build back our economy, but instead is taking the time to weigh in on an issue that is extremely hurtful to thousands of still grieving families by becoming a proponent of building a mosque at the site where their family members died. It’s a shame and I wish the President would show more respect for our fallen countrymen”.

The proposed Mosque is has been a hotly debated issue for months and last week President Obama voiced his support for allowing it to be built just blocks from where thousands of Americans perished at the hands of Islamic extremists on September 11th 2001.

The Crawford campaign also called on Democrat Chad Causey to repudiate Obama’s stand on the building of the mosque at the site of one of Americas greatest tragedies; “It’s time for Chad Causey to stand with America instead of the Obama-Pelosi administration. We are asking him to repudiate the sad choice by his leadership to support an extremist group over the families of the Americans that died. He needs to take this opportunity to let the people of Arkansas know where he stands on this issue, is it with the Washington Liberals or those who believe this action by the president is in poor taste?” said Crawford Campaign Manager Jonah Shumate.

Crawford Launches Democrats for Crawford Coalition

August 17, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

JONESBORO – First District Congressional candidate, United States Army veteran, and agri-business owner Rick Crawford announced his newest coalition – Democrats for Crawford.  Dewaine Malone, of Lake City, will be the chairman.  Malone, who is a lifetime Democrat, says the liberal agenda in Washington is out of control and out of touch.

“I have been a registered Democrat all my life and the people in Washington are too liberal and out of touch with the folks here in Arkansas,” said Malone.  “While I will continue to support Democrats locally, I believe we need someone in Washington that can stand up to Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama’s agenda.”

Malone was born and raised in Craighead County and went on to a 26 year career with the Arkansas State Police where he was stationed in Mississippi County.  Upon retiring from the Arkansas State Police, Malone moved back to Lake City where he has served as the Sheriff for the Eastern District of Craighead County the last ten years.

“It is an honor to have Dewaine as the chairman for our Democrats for Crawford Coalition,” said Crawford.  “Like many lifelong Democrats in the First District, Dewaine understands that the liberal Pelosi agenda is driving our country further and further to the edge of the cliff.  I am looking forward to working with Dewaine and other conservative Democrats so I can go to Washington and be a check and balance against the Pelosi-Obama agenda.”

”We need someone in Washington that can stand up Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.  We need someone who will put the people of Arkansas first.  The only person in this race who can do that is Rick Crawford.  He has my full support,” concluded Malone.

Crawford Earns Endorsement of American Conservative Union PAC

August 14, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

JONESBORO –  First District Congressional candidate, United States Army veteran, and agri-business owner Rick Crawford announced the endorsement today of the American Conservative Union Political Action Committee.  ACU PAC, which organizes each year the annual CPAC gathering of conservatives, cites Rick as the clear conservative choice for voters in November.

“Rick Crawford is the clear conservative choice for Arkansas’ First District,” said ACU PAC Chairman David A. Keene.  “His willingness to take on seven term liberal incumbent Marion Berry encouraged Berry to retire.  Rick Crawford has pledged to repeal Obamacare, increase domestic energy production and fight any attempt by either party to expand government or increase spending.  I urge all conservatives to support Rick Crawford and give Arkansas’ First District the representation it deserves.”

This endorsement comes as Rick Crawford continues to gain huge amounts of traction in his campaign to get Washington off the back of Arkansas’ businesses, farmers and family budgets. Leading into the final three months of the campaign, Crawford has racked up several major endorsements including the most recent from Terry Green and Richard Walden.

“It is an honor to add the endorsement of the nation’s largest conservative organization to the growing list of those who will stand with me against big government, higher taxes and Obamacare,” said Crawford.  “The ACU PAC’s support in this race further demonstrates conservatives in the First District are ready for a Congressman in Washington who will stand up to the liberal Obama-Pelosi agenda,” concluded Crawford.

Statement from Rick Crawford on Endorsement from Independent Richard Walden

August 10, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

JONESBORO –   “I am looking forward to Richard joining our campaign,” said Crawford.  “I know that Richard and I both agree that the liberal agenda in Washington, being led by Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama, must have a check and balance to ensure that the voices of Arkansans in the First District will be heard.  In the days and weeks ahead, I look forward to visiting with conservative Independents so they know where I stand on the critical issues facing our nation.  I look forward to earning their votes, as well as conservative Democrats, on November 2nd “concluded Crawford.

Congressional Candidate Terry Green Endorses Rick Crawford

August 6, 2010 by Crawford for Congress

JONESBORO – First District Congressional candidate, United States Army veteran, and agri-business owner Rick Crawford announced the endorsement of Terry Green today.  Green, who ran in the six-man race for the Democratic nomination in May, stated that Rick Crawford is the clear choice for voters in November.

“I got to know Rick as we met at various campaign events across the District and found him dedicated to the people of the First District more than he was any political party” said Green.  “I believe Rick Crawford will put us first in Washington as he fights to restore our economy, put people back to work, and implement common-sense based healthcare reform.”

Green was born and raised in Dewitt. He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Arkansas, completed a surgical internship at Baylor University in Dallas and an orthopedic residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  Green served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for six years.  He has been married for 35 years and has four grown children and two grandchildren.

“It is an honor to receive the endorsement of Dr. Green.  It was a pleasure getting to know Dr. Green as we met on the campaign trail during the primary season and found him to be a passionate American who wanted to do what was right for the people of the First District” said Crawford.  “I share those same passions as Dr. Green and I look forward to working with him as we continue on to November 2nd” concluded Crawford.

This is the ninth endorsement for Rick Crawford.  The most recent endorsements come from three senior advisors that served on the Tim Wooldridge for Congress Campaign.
